Lucy-Liu

Lucy Liu, an American voice actress producer director and singer is also a talented actor. A beautiful, smart and gifted actress, she is an example to Asian actors aspiring to become big names in Hollywood. After a series of initial performances in popular shows she achieved fame by joining the cast of the legal comedy series Ally McBeal where she played the sly Ling Woo. Her new-found fame was translated into roles on the big screen in Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels and other films. Her performance was outstanding as Japanese gangster O-Ren Ishii (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. In the same period she appeared in box office failures, including Rise: Blood Hunter. After that, she started to play characters that were prominent in animation films such as Kung Fu Panda. The small screen role of Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia did not yield positive results. Southland is a critically-acclaimed series of police dramas which included Liu in multiple parts, helped to establish her status as a performer. Liu has a lot of care when choosing her roles to ensure she doesn't get typecast. While she embraces her roots, it hasn't limited her in her professional work as an artist.
